Concrete is highly resistant to compression but weak against tensile forces. When a structure is subjected to tensile stress, it cracks. Reinforcement wire, and the steel mesh made from it, carries this tensile force and strengthens the concrete.

Applications

The most common application. Reinforcement wire is the raw material for the steel mesh used in slab, shear wall and ground slab reinforcement.

How to choose the right reinforcement wire
Set the diameter by application. Lower diameters (2-3 mm) are preferred for light slab mesh, and higher diameters (4-6 mm) for structural reinforcement and heavy mesh.
Pay attention to diameter tolerance. In mesh production especially, weld quality depends on the wire. Wire with a loose tolerance causes weld points that fail to hold and irregular grid spacing.
