Hard, high-strength cold-drawn black wire, 500-1100 MPa, SAE 1006-1018, for nails, springs, wire mesh and industrial manufacturing.
Cold-drawn black wire is produced by drawing steel wire rod through dies at room temperature, which increases its tensile strength. Unlike annealed wire, it is not softened, so it stays hard and high-strength. It is used where load-bearing and high strength are required — nails, springs, wire mesh and fence panels. Note: this is different from black annealed wire, which is soft.
